Vegetable Garden Birthday Cake

A garden cake for a fantastic gardener!  Everything is edible, of course!  Even the 'dirt!'  Squash, onions, tomatoes, peas, carrots and cucumbers.  Those are straight from his garden!  Happy Birthday, Ken!

Harry Potter Hedwig Owl Cake

Here's an adorable Hedwig cake I made for my daughter's birthday.  We made potions and each child got their own wand from Ollivander's shop.  We had candles all over and the curtains closed.  We played Harry Potter trivia and let the kids 'cast spells.'  It was so much fun!
Hedwig was made with 4 6" circle cakes and 2 4" cakes with the top of a cupcake to round off the head.  Sculpted to be shaped like an owl, then frosted and covered in feathers made of sculptable butter cream mixed with a little gum paste.  The glasses are gum paste and the scarf is modeling chocolate.  Truly a magical party and cake!  (It was hard to eat such a cute cake!!)
The layers of cake for Hedwig!
Happy birthday our beautiful girl!  We love you tons and tons!!!

Celtic Yule Log Cake

I love making different cakes than the normal birthday cakes.  This is the second yule log cake I've made for my friend, and I love it!  The berries are modeling chocolate and the leaves and Celtic knots are gum paste.  Then just lots of yummy frosting!  Welcome Winter Solstice!  And on such a yummy note!

TV show 'Psych' pineapple birthday cake

Have you ever seen the TV show 'Psych?'  Well, my friend LOVES it!  (So do my kids and sister!)  So if you've seen the show you'll understand this cake!  It was very fun to make.
Fresh lemon gluten free pound cake with lemon curd and lemon butter cream frosting covered in modeling chocolate and fondant.  It's all edible.  The leaves are modeling chocolate.

Happy happy birthday, Tiffany!  We love you!

Spanish Lace, GIANT red bow birthday cake

My daughter's friend LOVED the Spanish Lace wedding cake I did back in May, so she wanted something similar for her birthday cake.  (I know, lucky girl!)  We'd already done the makeup thing for her, so she wanted a red bow.  The stripes I think were my favorite, aside from the bow.  Really, it was a very fun cake to make for a very fun girl!
Happy Birthday, Brynlee!!!

Lego Ninjago Birthday Cake

My little boy finally got his birthday party!!!  He loves the Lego Nijago sets, so here we are.  A Lego cake for a sweet boy!  It's all edible even down to the ties of the ninja mask and the sword.  The actual cake part wasn't quite like I wanted it, but it was still fun.

The Lego man and black piece were made of rice krispie treats then covered in frosting and either gum paste or modeling chocolate.  The cake was strawberry chocolate chip with dark chocolate frosting, then covered in fondant.  The white Lego pieces were fondant.

We made swords and 'sushi' for the party.  It was kind of a small party, which was perfect since I just wasn't up to a big party.  Too much going on this last week to do anything else.  Love you, my son!  Happy birthday!!!!

Mickey Mouse 1st Birthday Cake

I always love doing cakes for close family and friends!  This cake was very special for me to make.  Our dear friends' little boy turned one and I couldn't have been happier for them!  Little Mason is such an adorable little guy, and we all love him so much.  He was a little spoiled with his party, but well deserved, I think!  His mommy did a fabulous job!  And what a fun theme and color scheme!!!
 Happy Birthday, Mason!!!

Everything was edible, even down to Mickey's ears!!!  (And on a side note, I made that cake tower with pieces I got at the DI.  Only spent $4!!!)
