A better attempt at a back-to-school cake for my kids. Our boy gets to be included this year, so that is very fun for all of us! No fondant on this cake, just gum paste paint brushes and paint tubes. And of course, it's gluten free!
I'm kind of taking a break for the summer, but for my hubby I made this amazingly delicious cake. Gluten free, rich chocolate cake, strawberry cream cheese frosting, chocolate ganache and chocolate covered strawberries. It was SOOOO tasty. Oh, and sliced, fresh strawberries in between the layers of cake.
This was a special cake for my niece, and my kids a little bit, at least the Jack Sparrow part. Treasure, pirates, loot, island, ships..... SO MUCH FUN!!! Love you Bree girl!!! (And Ron and Rach!) Oh, and check it out, NO FONDANT! Just modeling chocolate, lost of sweet sugar and gum paste.
Apparently my kids really like having movie parties, so yet again, we had a movie themed cake. Rachel wanted the 'drapery' effect she's seen on Cake Boss, so I tried my hand at it. Not quite the direction I was wanting, but still turned out good. Plus, it's gluten free! Happy Birthday sweetheart!
A sweet pink and black gift box cake for a baby shower. All decorations were fondant, except the tissue paper which I did with gum paste. I had so much fun with this one, I just wish I could get my edges a little sharper. Sorry, perfectionist in me talking.
